SPOOK: So! What is your experience in photography and how did you get into it?

Jessica Kirby: I have been completing my diploma in photography for the past three years, before that I was experimenting with conceptual self-portraits and documentary style photography wherever I travelled.

What do you love about photography?

I love falsifying reality, it is so interesting how you can ease people into seeing a certain perspective on a moment captured in time. I love story telling, especially conveying stories and information on concepts I am passionate about, such as feminism.

What tunes are on rotation in the editing studio/work/home at the moment?

Wonderland – Taylor Swift

Thinking Out Loud – Ed Sheeran

Carousel – Melanie Martinez

Hurricane – Panic! At the Disco

Where do you draw inspiration from?

Dreams, movies, music, emotions, pop culture, social movements, my partner.

How did this shoot happen?
